As you may know, Governor Andrew Cuomo has mandated the entire state to be “put on PAUSE”, all non-essential in-person operation workforces are required to stay home starting 8pm on Sunday, 3/22/2020 until further notice. To comply with this new guidance, CCALI Chinese School is also announcing our remaining classes of this school year will be conducted remotely beginning 3/29/2020.
Even though the classes were canceled/postponed for the past two weeks, our school staff and teachers continued to work on getting set-up with remote learning and adjusting on their lesson plans accordingly. We greatly appreciate our staff and teachers for their effort to get this done in such a short time, as well as your patience as parents and students. We will need your continuous support as we execute this plan for as long as we need it.
The remaining school days are: 3/29, 4/5, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/31, 6/7, 6/14, in which 6/14 is the graduation and awards ceremony, the other 7 days will follow regular school schedule via remote learning, which is from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. The actual lesson plans will be distributed by your class teachers, so please pay close attention to your email communications throughout this week. In regards to cultural classes, it’s still under discussion with the teachers on different options, we will share the details as soon as that’s finalized. The method on how to conduct the graduation and award ceremony will be determined depending on the situation as we get closer to the date.
New York State government is working diligently on helping our communities to fight the situation, we would like to take this moment and remind everyone to please comply with the policies, exercise “Social Distancing” religiously, stay home as much as you can. We hope the society will soon return to its norm, stay safe and healthy everyone!
