This Week (3 of 30)

This Week (3 of 30)

First Board Meeting

This year’s first Board meeting was open to all. Jet Wang, the Chairperson of this year welcomed all the parents who joined. Former Chairperson who is also the current secretary for our Board, Dr. Josephine Jung also attended the meeting and shared valuable experiences and guidance.

Birdy, the President, presented a series of cultural activities he had planned for the school year, including 40th anniversary celebration and the Chinese New Year Fundraiser dinner. The common goal for the school and the Board of this year is to gain parents involvement. We sincerely hope all the parents will participate and join committees for preparation of all events, have fun and share the special moments!

Teacher Training Seminar

The Teacher Training Seminar hosted by Assistant Principal, Anne Hsieh, was a success! There were six parents joined this session. The interactions and experience sharing was especially valuable. One of the parents shared her feedback: “I appreciate this opportunity to have participated in this training session, and given the chance to hear from experienced teachers who teach Chinese language in America for many years. I also learned some interactive games which I can do to make learning more fun for the kids. During this training, everyone exchanged their own challenges with the Chinese learning journey for their kids. I highly recommend this seminar for the parents.”

The other teacher assistant who attended also shared: “The concept of ‘noone is left behind’, along with classroom management, and class guidance, these are the main goals for this session. Thanks to Ms. Anne Hsieh for sharing her teaching experience, guiding us to think outside of the box, empathize with our children, gain trust from them, so we can build a happy learning environment. In fact, this session is not only about classroom management, it is also beneficial in parenthood.”

We hope there will be more parents to join us in the next session
